Let's Restore Lives

When the Sunbeam is abundant on their head, in their shredded asylum, a lamp-post is the only source of light at night for millions in India and in the world. Yes, they are the most deprived section of the society not getting the basic amenities in their life. They are the street dwellers, the lunatics, the mendicants and obviously the unblessed children. Burning heat, nipping cold, thunderstorms, pollution and unhygienic surroundings are the inevitable parts of their daily life. Women and girl children are more prone to abuse, exploitation and trafficking. Millions of them are struggling to find a roof over their head.

There are about 1.8 million homeless population in India. With a great difficulty they find a shelter on the streets, at railway stations, under bridges, beside railway tracks and canals, some of them are found roaming around, seems that the world hasn't really been set up for them. There are an estimated data of homeless population living in different cities of India:

  • Delhi - 150,000 - 200,000
  • Chennai - 40,000 - 50,000
  • Mumbai - 200,000
  • Indore - 10,000 - 12,000
  • Vishakhapatnam - 18,000
  • Bangalore - 40,000 - 50,000
  • Hyderabad - 60,000
  • Ahmedabad - 100,000
  • Patna - 25,000
  • Kolkata - 150,000
  • Lucknow - 19,000
